
Minister of Labor Marius Budai, when asked whether there is a risk that the pension system will become unsustainable in the next period with the retirement of the so-called “maternity” generations, states that there will be none on the horizon of 2030. problems related to the payment of pensions, recalling that in Romania there were periods when the number of workers was lower than the number of pensioners.
“There was a time in Romania when the number of working people was less than the number of pensioners, and there were no problems, pensions were paid. But this is not an explanation, we have to take action, we have to be active, as it was in 2022,” Marius Budaj said Monday night on Antena 3, News.ro reported.
He emphasized that at the level of the Government there is modeling of the demographic situation, therefore at the level of the Ministry of Family Affairs there are measures to increase the birth rate, and other types of measures regarding employment are also given.
“There will be no problems in 2030. I believe we are in a period where we need to go from end to end. In the current economic and social dynamics, I think it is not much to speak for 2050,” the minister added.
