
London grass Grand Slam winner Olena Rybakina crashed out of WTA Adelaide 2 in the opening round. Taking the 21st place in the world ranking, the athlete representing Kazakhstan lost to Petra Kvitova.

Crowned Wimbledon champion last summer, Rybakina has not impressed since lifting the trophy on grass at the All England Club.
Olena left the tournament in Adelaide early, as she was defeated in two sets, 6-3, 7-5, by Petra Kvitova (12th seed).
Two-time Grand Slam winner (Wimbledon – 2011, 2014) Petra needed an hour and 27 minutes to win.

In another match of the day, Karolina Pliskova (ex-WTA leader) was defeated by Danielle Collins (10th seed).
Based on the qualification, the athlete from the Czech Republic clearly lost in two sets with the score 6-2, 6-4. The match lasted one hour and 17 minutes.
