The air defense of the Russian-occupied Crimean peninsula intercepted Ukrainian drones on Monday evening after several days of attacks by Russian kamikaze drones on Ukrainian cities, AFP reported with reference to the Russian news agency TASS.
Two Ukrainian drones were shot down over the port of Sevastopol, the source said.
“Our anti-aircraft defense continued to repulse the attacks,” said Mykhailo Razvoyaev, the governor appointed by Moscow.
Sevastopol is the main base of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. The port has been the object of attacks by Ukrainian drones several times, the last time on December 30.
In October, the Ukrainian military attacked the Russian fleet near Sevastopol with the help of unmanned boats with explosives. There is conflicting information from both sides of the conflict regarding their effectiveness. (Source Agerpres)
