A puppy stolen two years ago has been returned to its owners thanks to an identification chip, local police in Bucharest reported, as cited by Agerpres.
“During Thursday, the Animal Police Service crew from the General Directorate of Local Police and Control of the Municipality of Bucharest, while carrying out a patrol mission in the Ferentari district, found two furballs near the fence. Two bichons, a girl and a boy, frightened by the street noise, ran towards each other. They were checked with a chip reader and the puppy was identified. The second, a small boy, was handed over to ASPA in hopes of adoption,” the local police said in a Facebook post.
According to the same source, the owner of the puppy was identified thanks to an implanted chip.
“The zoo police contacted him by phone and informed about the discovery of the cub. With tears in his voice, he told us that he reported Sarah missing to RECS two years ago, since she disappeared. The Bichon’s owner also told how his puppy was stolen at the highway intersection. Oltenita from St. Stoyan Military. A car stopped near her, they grabbed her and quickly drove away. He did not remember the registration number because of excitement. He has been searching for her ever since, but without success. Here, the spirit of the holiday forced them to meet again and Sarah returned to her loving owners,” the post also says.
