According to Al Jazeera, Moscow’s ambassador to the UN, Vasyl Nebenzia, said that in the Kyiv suburb of Buchi, civilians were not tortured or killed, despite evidence of atrocities committed by the Russian military.
“None of the local residents were harmed by any violent actions,” Nebenzya said, calling the photos and videos of corpses on the streets a “gross hoax” staged by Ukrainians.
Such claims have been denied by Ukrainian and international authorities, human rights groups and journalists who have been gathering evidence as Russian troops withdraw from the area.
