Nicolae Stanchiu became the Chinese champion with newly-formed Wuhan Three Towns on Friday after missing the last few matches due to “health conditions”.

Wuhan Three Towns, the goal difference champion

Wuhan Three Towns and Shandong Taishan were scheduled to play Tianjin Jinmen Tigers and Beijing Guoan respectively in the final stage, but they lost due to several players being infected with Covid-19.

Thus, the two teams finished with an equal number of points (78 each), and Nicolae Stanciu’s team won the title on goal difference: five goals more.

Wuhan Three Towns has won three consecutive titles: League II (2020), League I (2021) and CSL (2022).

Stanchiu was one of the most important players in the composition of the Iberian Pedro Morilla, who scored 10 goals and 11 assists.
