
Former Brazilian soccer player Edson Arantes do Nascimento Pele, 82, died on Thursday after being hospitalized since late November in a hospital in Sao Paulo.
Exactly one month after he was admitted to a hospital in Sao Paulo for a change in cancer treatment that had already failed, Pele lost his battle with the terminal illness.
Shortly after hospitalization, doctors reported a respiratory condition that arose as a result of infection with Covid-19, to then try to treat kidney and heart dysfunction.
