Ukraine was the target of a new missile attack by Russia on Thursday morning, when explosions rang out in several cities that authorities said came from air defense systems shooting down missiles, Reuters reported.
Oleksii Arestovych, an adviser to the President’s Office, wrote on Facebook that the Russians fired more than 100 missiles in several waves, and aircraft signals could be heard throughout the country.
Explosions rang out in Kyiv, Zhytomyr and Odesa, a Reuters correspondent and local media reported.
A power outage has been announced in Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk regions to minimize possible damage to the energy infrastructure.
