In the new year, peace between Russia and Ukraine is on the horizon – at least that’s what a group of shamans and healers in Peru’s capital Lima predicted on Wednesday, Reuters reports.

At the top of the hill, shamans dressed in traditional Andean clothing welcomed the coming year in a cleansing ceremony that included flowers, incense, a snake and photos of Presidents Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky.

“It will all calm down. There will be peace, calm. This is what we have seen,” said shaman Cleofe Sedano, predicting that a peace treaty would be signed by August.

The ceremony, which is held every year in late December, comes ten months after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which killed tens of thousands of people. The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi resolutely promoted a 10-point peace plan.

Making their predictions after relaying photos of the two presidents in a ritual with flowers, coca leaves and skulls, the shamans also predicted natural disasters.

“Next year there will be an earthquake, but not in the capital of Peru, but in another place, especially abroad in North America, which could be the United States … there will be many tragedies, especially climatic ones,” said shaman Walter Alarcon.
