The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi said in his Christmas message on Sunday evening that darkness will not prevent Ukrainians from defeating the invaders, but when “Ukrainians are together, (…) we cannot be defeated.”

  • “Today, millions of people celebrate Christmas according to the Gregorian calendar. And I once again congratulate everyone who is celebrating right now, on these days. And once again I want to express gratitude – together – to all those who, both on these days and at any other time, do everything to live Let’s live our lives and in our country.
  • There are only a few days left until the end of this year. We must realize that our enemy will try to make this time dark and difficult for us.
  • Please pay attention to the notice of air raids during these days. Search again and remember where the nearest point of invincibility is. Tell your parents how to find the point of invincibility if needed.
  • Please take care of yourself. And be ready to help others. When Ukrainians are together, when Ukrainians are grateful to each other, we cannot be defeated. May it always be so!”

Zelensky thanked all the fighters and servicemen who hold the front line and push back the Russians, as well as all those who repair equipment, volunteers and doctors and nurses or those who go to donate blood for the wounded, referring, in particular, to Kherson, where many people lined up in queue for a blood donation center after a Russian attack that killed 16 people and injured many others.

The Ukrainian president called the Russians “savages” and promised that “we will find every Russian criminal.”

The list of thanks goes on to journalists who write about the truth, to leaders and people of the world who stand by Ukraine.
