Today, Friday, December 23, Minister of National Defense Nikos Panagiotopoulos visited observation post 126 in Soufli, observation post Kipon Evros and the headquarters of the XII Evros Motorized Rifle Division in Alexandroupoli.
As reported, on the eve of the Christmas holidays, the minister was instructed on operational issues and exchanged wishes with officers and conscripts of the Armed Forces. N. Panagiotopoulos was accompanied by the commander of the 4th Army Corps, Lieutenant General Ioannis Tsioplas and the commander of the XII M / K MP, Lieutenant General Panagiotis Kavidopoulos.
After that, a meeting was held with Euros deputies Anastasios Dimoshakis, Stavros Keletzis and Christos Dermetzopoulos, as well as with the mayors of Alexandroupolis Ioannis Zamboukis, Orestiada Vasilios Mavridis, Soufliou Panagiotis Kalakikos, Didymoteiou Romilos Hatzigiannoglou to inform them about the plan to rationalize the reception centers of hoplites and better organization preventive operations.
At the end of his visit to Evros, the Minister of National Defense met with His Eminence Metropolitan Antimos II of Alexandroupolis.
