Every year brings its own changes for motorists. And from January 1, 2023, millions of French people who will take to the streets will be treated to a series of events. Started in 2015, strengthened in 2017 and finally in July 2019 Low emission zone capital took a new step further 1Er June 2021. But where are we today? what to expect in 2023?

What vehicles are currently prohibited?

Because 1Er June 2021, Greater Paris ZFE prohibits all light and heavy vehicles classified with Crit’Air 4 and 5 stickers. We remind you that this traffic ban is only valid weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.. Similarly, unclassified vehicles are also not allowed to travel during this time.

In case of non-compliance with the standards, the amount of‘okay is with €68 for light commercial vehicles and 135 euros for heavy trucks.

What will change next year for ZFE Grand Paris?

A date that favors a ban on secret vehicles Crit’Air 3 was at first set for July 2022. Later this date was moved to January 1, 2023.

But this term clearly too early! In fact, it almost is 842,318 cars which will no longer be able to circulate in Paris and its surroundings, i.e. 32.3% of the private car fleet in the metropolis… In the current difficult situation, still expensive fuel and record inflation this end of the year, such a ban would be really premature.

According to recent developments, the president of the Métropole du Grand Paris Patrick Oliver would like to move this deadline. So it must be effective. after the 2024 Olympics according to him. And until then, we must not forget that this date of September 2024 still has to be put to the vote of the capital council in December or January.

Finally, 1Er Last July, the Council of Greater Paris decided to postpone the next phase of the low-emission zone discussion for a year. It will happen 1Er July 2023! See you until then to fix it.
