“I will step down as CEO as soon as I find someone crazy enough to take the job! After that, I will only lead the software and server teams,” Musk wrote on Twitter.

Before this statement, Musk questioned the correctness of a poll he initiated, the results of which show that the majority of voters favor the departure of the billionaire from the management of the platform, according to AFP.

After becoming the sole owner of the social network on October 27, the billionaire assured during the poll that he agreed with its results, but in a series of responses to various tweets, he now seems to understand that the result was skewed by bot voting.

According to a survey of 17 million respondents, 57% favored Elon Musk’s departure less than eight weeks after he took over the group in exchange for $44 billion.

However, according to a survey conducted by the HarrisX Institute, which used its own sample of users of the microblogging platform, 61% of respondents supported keeping Elon Musk as CEO.

“Interestingly, this suggests that we have a bit of a problem with bots on Twitter,” Musk responded in a tweet in which he presented the results of his own survey by the HarrisX Institute.

HarrisX assured that its survey was conducted independently of Twitter or “any organization that has ties to Elon Musk”.

The comment came after Elon Musk endorsed a post that suggested his survey had been botched. He also said that any new polls would be limited to paid Twitter users.

The billionaire has relied on polls in the past to support controversial decisions, such as the reactivation of former US President Donald Trump’s account, as well as the accounts of other users who have been suspended.

The results of his latest survey initially sent Tesla shares higher, amid growing criticism from Tesla investors about Twitter’s post-takeover attention to the carmaker’s detriment.

Several American media, citing anonymous sources, assured that Elon Musk began to look for his replacement, information that the owner of Twitter denied.
