“The new museum embodies a new dynamic approach to the relationship with the archaeological site,” said Mr. Mitsotakis.

The new museum, the central building of the museum, was conceived as a symbolic gateway to the archaeological site and to the history of the Aigais, to the history and culture of the Macedonians, as well as to the Hellenistic world, since it is here that the physical exhibition “Alexander the Great from the Goat” will be held at the Digital Museum Headquarters to the ecumene.”

1. Architectural exhibition with the central exhibit of the reorganized part of the palace,
2. Exhibition of sculptures,

4. Periodic exhibition “Ecumenical Antidor”, held jointly with the Numismatic Museum and collector Theodoros Aravanis.

The project “MULTICENTRAL MUSEUM OF VERGINA – MUSEUM CENTRAL BUILDING” with a total integration budget of 18,154,190 euros was implemented in two stages by the Directorate of Research and Work of Museums and Cultural Buildings and the Ephorate of Antiquities of Imathia.
At the end of his speech, the Prime Minister referred to the statement made by Konstantinos Karamanlis in 1978, when he visited the archaeological site of Vergina with Manolis Andronikos, and pointed to the national significance of the archaeological discoveries in the area.
Mr. Mitsotakis said that today both Konstantinos Karamanlis and Manolis Andronikos will be proud of the opening of the new museum.
He thanked all those who helped in its creation, and especially noted the archaeologist Angelika Kottaridis, who, according to him, devoted her life to this cause.
