Could this be the magic of Christmas? Fuel prices have continued to fall over the past few weeks. Of course, we are still very far from the sums shown in 2020, immediately after the withholding, when a liter of unleaded gasoline could be displayed at a price of less than 1.40 euros at some gas stations. Things have changed a lot since then, and the price has literally skyrocketed in the last few months. In question war in Ukraine, which led to a sharp increase in the price of a barrel of oil. Then this one even broke the record, exceeding 140 dollars. However, the latter has now returned to less than $100. This explains, in particular, such a drop in prices.

Low level

In June, the peak was 2.13 euros per liter of diesel fuel. Today it costs about 40 cents less and is billed for 1.74 euros. A liter of unleaded is also lower, hovering around 1.70 euros on average. Because prices have been steadily falling for more than three weeks, despite the end of the 30-cent discount last November. Very good news! But will this fall really last? Nothing is less certain… Indeed, it may well be that prices end up stagnating or, worse, rising over the next few weeks or months. But why?

.

Several reasons

In fact, this potential is due to several reasons price increase. First of all, the drop in oil production, which will inevitably increase volumes depending on demand. In addition, it will be necessary to deal with the end of the 10-cent discount, scheduled for December 31. Only a few days left to enjoy it! It will be replaced by assistance intended only for the most modest households that need a car every day.
