That was a little over a year ago. In November 2021, Rimac officially formalized the acquisition of Bugatti, which previously belonged to the Volkswagen Group. Then the firm decided to put the manufacturer up for sale, an image vector, but too unprofitable, despite the success of its models. Thus, now Mate Rimac, the founder of the eponymous brand, heads the French manufacturer, which is still based in Molsheim, in Alsace. And although the Chiron is now sold out, the company is starting to think about its replacement, which is already in the development stage. And that would be very promising, according to the brand’s new manager, who is quite chatty on the subject. And this is good!

Not 100% electric
Rest assured, purists, this newbie will not be 100% electric. But it will indeed use an electrified engine, unlike the Chiron, which has an 8.0-liter W16 with a 100% thermal engine. When asked by our colleagues at Auto Express, Mate Rimac provided some additional details, saying that internal combustion engine future supercar will be “unbelievable”, even “unusual”. It’s just that. Something that brings tears to your eyes! According to the leader, this engine “will leave all enthusiasts speechless.” Waiting to see.
Without an SUV
Mate Rimac also said that ” the future Bugatti will be very aesthetic, with elements that repeat the past of the brand, and all with incredible performance“. Which prompts us to learn a little more about it. In any case, the brand now wants to focus on this supercar and has abandoned its plans for the moment SUV. And frankly, we’re not going to complain about it, and neither are the purists. Because today many brands have decided to succumb to the temptation, such as Lamborghini, Aston Martin or Ferrari.
