USR Senator Ştefan Pălărie criticized the ruling parties on Monday, calling what is happening in parliament “absolutely unacceptable” in conditions where there are laws that pass “like lightning”, including laws on the state budget, which were passed in two days.

“What is happening in the Parliament of Romania is absolutely unacceptable. Parliamentary debates turned into a joke, the ink had not even dried on the law on the state budget, for the debate of which five seconds were allotted to each parliamentarian. It is a record to pass the state budget law for a country like Romania in two days, passed in a flash, apparently with all rejected amendments. We have now come to discuss the change of the word at night, like thieves, in that with the holidays, like thieves, because over time it is Romanian citizens who pack smaller and smaller gifts, due to a decrease in purchasing power, the parliamentarians of the ruling parties give gifts with a dedication to their friends” , – said Paleri in a statement provided to the press in the Senate.

He also mentioned a law to provide allowances to the APIA and another on the legacy of research institutes, which could lead to “national looting”.

“I will give three examples of laws that are passed in a flash during this period, they change the work schedule of specialized commissions in order to be able to pass an outdated law overnight. The first law is a government for friends, we have GEO that proposes to add some raises for workers Ministry of Agriculture, more precisely for those from APIA. It is not enough that these people have a salary of more than 6000 lei net, there is a discussion about introducing a raise of more than 15% for these already high salaries. , is the Director of Human Resources at the APIA Agency The second major issue is a law that could lead to a national looting of the legacy of national research institutes. Why? Because it’s fast-forwarding again (…) an initiative that will actually allow local government administrations to take over the legacy of what these national research institutes have been until now.We all know that over the years there have been those who are watching the wealth, the wealth of these institutions, and want to privatize them or alienate them again to their friends,” Stefan Pelari explained.

He also criticized the law on the adoption of the “train” order and the postponement of the Ministry of Education’s allocation of 6% of GDP.

“During this time, attention, I am silently, that is, without priority for discussion, passing, for example, an initiative that has a huge impact on almost a million young people, namely the law on penalizing minors for using tobacco products. The real debate, the amendments lost, and this law is passed silently. Or another example – the law on raising the tax ceiling on pensions from 2,000 to 3,000, again silently, without having time to develop any better laws. From this point of view, we are witnessing, I think, at the national premiere, in a situation where I cannot understand and I am still shocked – a comfortable majority of 70% could allow a real parliamentary discussion of the initiatives. Instead, we see a colossal lightning strike and a form of theft in the end, including democracy through parliamentary debate,” concluded the UDR senator. (source. Agerpress)
