Elon Musk has promised to step down as CEO if the public asks him to do so. Only 42.5% of the votes, over 7 million, were in favor of keeping Musk.

In less than two months, Musk changed a lot at Twitter, laid off several thousand people, and in some countries the company was almost left without employees. There were voices wondering if Twitter still had a future or if it was going to collapse.

Musk has also come under fire in recent days after he ordered the suspension of several accounts of users he didn’t like, such as several prominent journalists.

Twitter, which has only been profitable for two of the last 10 years, has lost 60% of its market value this year.

Musk’s platform recently issued a statement informing Twitter users that they would no longer be allowed to post links to several competing social networks.
