
The Turkish company Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi Ve Ticaret won the tender organized by the capital city hall for the purchase of 100 electric buses. The contract has not yet been signed, as there are 10 days left to appeal. The value of the contract is 293 million lei without VAT, and the delivery period is 10 months.
During the tenure of Gabriela Firea, the capital city hall bought 400 buses from another Turkish company – Otokar, then the purchase caused a wave of criticism.
“The stage of evaluation of proposals for the purchase of 100 electric buses has been completed. As a result of checking the method of fulfilling the requirements of the specification and further application of the award criteria, the contract was awarded to the tenderer KARSAN OTOMOTIV SANAYI VE TICARET AS. The total value of the contract is 293 million lei without VAT, and the financing comes from non-repayable European funds, through the regional operational program (POR),” Mayor Nikushor Dan said on his Facebook page.
The contract can be signed after the end of the 10-day period for submission of applications, and the delivery period is 10 months from the moment of signing the contract, the mayor also explained.
The buses will have a range of 522.49 kilometers on two consecutive charges, all-electric traction, batteries with batteries, a fully lowered floor over the entire length of the vehicle, a length of 12 meters, three double doors and air conditioning.
The Metropolitan City Hall received 6 applications for the purchase of 100 electric buses at the auction and will determine the winner in the near future. Applications were submitted by the following companies: BMC Truck & Bus, Solaris Bus&Coach, Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi Ve Ticaret, Mercedes-Benz Trucks & Buses Romania, New Kopel Car Import and Otokar Europe.
The estimated value of the contract was 304,670,300 lei without VAT, and the financing is provided by non-refundable European funds through the Regional Operational Program (POR) 2014-2020.
The new electric buses will be from 12 meters long and have a minimum autonomy of 200 km between two consecutive charges, fully electric traction, autonomous system of energy storage (SRSEE), battery cells, fully lowered floor. full height, three double doors and air conditioning.
This is already the fourth tender organized by the capital city hall for the purchase of electric buses, the first 3 are canceled.
USR General Counsel Nicorel Nicorescu said at the launch of the fourth tender that the municipality decided to remove from the documentation a technical specification that “blocks” the participation of suppliers, regarding supercapacitors for braking energy storage.
