
David Popovici won the silver medal in the 200m freestyle final at the World Short Course Championships (25m) in Melbourne.
Adrian Redulescu’s pupil finished second with a time of 1:40.79.
The gold medal went to Sunwoo Hwang of South Korea, who showed a time of 1:39.72 (a competition record). British Tom Dean completed the podium with a time of 1:40.86.
David has stated several times that he hates short pool, but that he came to Australia for the World Cup to gain experience.
Our athlete won silver in the 200 m freestyle, took 4th place in the 100 m freestyle final (set a world record among juniors) and did not make it to the 400 m freestyle final.
