The Transylvania Open, a tournament in Cluj-Napoca, was selected as the WTA 250 Tournament of the Year by player vote.

The WTA Tour of the Year winners, as voted by the players, earned this recognition for the excellence of their staff and organization, their passionate fans and their greater commitment to the sport and its athletes.

The tournament awards are divided into three categories, reflecting the different levels of WTA tournaments, and the winners are as follows:

  • WTA 1000: BNP Paribas Open (Indian Wells)
  • WTA 500: Credit One Charleston Open
  • WTA 250: Transylvania Open (Cluj-Napoca).
