Secrets of the confiscated banknotes
Earlier, Belgian police released photos and information about cash found at the home of Ms Kailis and her partner Francesco Giorgi, the home of former MEP Antonio Panzeri and in the suitcase of Alexandros Kailis. The total amount reaches 1.5 million euros.
According to the respected Belgian newspaper L’Echo on Wednesday, the Belgian authorities confiscated, among other things, uncirculated cash that was still collared and tied with an elastic band and clearly came from another country, since Belgium stopped printing banknotes.
Thus, once the origin of this cash is established, it will be easy to identify the bank from which the notes were withdrawn, and thus the bank account and identity of the person charged with the withdrawal.
In addition, the authorities will be able to analyze the digital fingerprints on the banknotes and compare them with those of the suspects.
