“All institutions predict economic growth for us in 2023”
On Thursday evening, Nicolae Cuke was asked what he would convey to Romanians who are not experiencing the economic growth that has been spoken about in public speeches.
“At the level of the Government, we took all the measures that were at our disposal, and these are the funds that were in the state budget, to support vulnerable sections of the population. We know very well what the level of wages in our country is, and this year it was not possible to achieve it only because of inflation, there are elements that were on the table of the Government and will be. You are well aware of the measures we have taken through support packages for the vulnerable. Our goal was to do it in such a way as to ensure economic balance, economic growth, to attract as much money as possible to the state budget, so that we could have the necessary funds at our disposal to support them, which are really vulnerable. and needs state support,” Chuke said
The Prime Minister added that economic growth is expected next year as well.
“In the state budget for 2023, we had the same approach, so that we continue to invest in the economy to ensure economic growth and not enter the already predicted trend of decline and entry into economic recession. All institutions, both national and international, are predicting not as high economic growth as this year, but growth so that we have the sums available to ensure the increase of the minimum wage and, of course, the continuation of support for the vulnerable, so that we all pass good in this period,” added Nicolae Chuke, quoted by News.ro.
