USR parliamentarians and those not belonging to the Forţa Dreptei party filed an appeal with the Constitutional Court regarding the decree amending the Fiscal Code and maintaining the supplement for part-time employment contracts, as provided for in Government Decree 16/2022.

“We are reporting to the CCR because we can do it for the first time because the People’s Advocate refused to challenge it at the beginning when the consequences of this order could have been prevented. PNL and PSD are skinning Romanians who want to work, and not only that, but they consider us all thieves, especially employers and workers who have decided to work honestly, with registered employment contracts, with taxes paid to the state.(…) Romania currently has only 3.7% of all contracts being part-time contracts. This is extremely different from the European average of 17% or other countries. (…) Prime Minister Chuke managed to close more than 180,000 contracts in Romania with one signature on this work order,” USR deputy Oana Tsoiu said.

For his part, non-factional deputy Ionel Danke, a member of Forţa Dreptei, said that the decree amending the Fiscal Code “is for the Romanian economy a new decree 114, which increases taxation, affecting the most dynamic sectors of the economy.”

“This resolution hits micro-enterprises, PFAs, freelancers and working people who have the right to work part-time and pay taxes and contributions precisely for the work they do, not for the needs of public spending, as the PSD-PNL-UDMR coalition . Together with our fellow MPs from the USR, we MPs of Forţa Dreptei want to report to the CCR and stop this law from coming into force,” Danke said.

And the People’s Advocate sent an appeal to the Constitutional Court regarding the Law on Approval of Government Resolution 6/2022 on Amendments and Supplements to Law 227/2015 on the Fiscal Code.
