The National Road Infrastructure Management Company (CNAIR) is the first major state-owned company to sanction Austria for a JAI Council vote where it blocked Romania’s entry into Schengen. CNAIR has decided to close all its accounts with BCR, a member of Erste Group, Austria, one of the most important financial groups in Romania.
Transport Minister Sorin Grindeanu said on Tuesday that CNAIR had informed him that it was going to move its accounts from BCR.
- “This is not the only institution under the Ministry of Transport that will deal with this.
- There will also be the port of ConstanČ›a, the airports of Bucharest, as well as other institutions, because they have found better conditions in the CEC. This is the simplest possible explanation,” Sorin told Grindean.
BCR representatives contacted by HotNews declined to comment.
