golden globes – The controversial awards show for actors, producers, directors and producers outstanding over the past year returns this year, with the nominations announced Monday morning in America.

Last year, American network NBC decided not to broadcast the event after an article in the Los Angeles Times revealed that the Hollywood Foreign Correspondents Association, the body responsible for the voting process and the final awards, was made up entirely of whites. The same publication criticized the Union for its questionable ethical practices and questioned its legitimacy.

The union has tried to deal with everything it is accused of by adding six new black voters with a promise not to take bribes this year.

Filmmakers and generally those who work in the entertainment industry are hoping for changes in the institution and therefore begin to organize a full-fledged ceremony. And the nominations may be announced, but – as always – omissions and pleasant surprises.

Brendan Fraser for “The Whale”. No wonder, given that the actor was the favorite. But we were surprised that the Union decided to nominate him, despite the fact that Fraser publicly stated that he did not want to have anything to do with this institution.
