Disneyland theme park in Shanghai will open to guests tomorrow, Thursday, according to a statement released today by the Shanghai Disney Resort. Chinese authorities today announced a further easing of health measures against Covid-19.
The theme park was closed on November 29 due to coronavirus prevention measures.
At the same time, an official from the National Health Commission stated at a regular press briefing that Chinese vaccines against Covid-19 are very safe, with benefits that outweigh the risks.

New recommendations
It is noted that based on new recommendations presented by the National Health Commission, those who asymptomatic or submit mild symptoms they can stay in quarantine in their homes and not in hospitals or quarantine facilities, as it used to be. They will only be taken to the hospital if their condition worsens.
At the same time China this will further limit the commitment and frequency of nuclear testing and now they will not need to demonstrate a negative Covid test those who enter public places and those who travel to another province.
Home quarantine for patients with mild symptoms significant change with the rules in China since lockdowns for entire communities were introduced earlier this year, sometimes for weeks after a single case was identified.
Quarantine rules were somewhat relaxed last month and provided for the introduction of quarantine only in residential complexes where cases of the disease were detected.
But from now on, the National Health Commission said, high-risk areas should be clearly defined by building, apartment, floor and household and should not be arbitrarily extended to entire residential complexes and communities.
Changing rhetoric
For almost three years, Chinese authorities have treated Covid-19 as a particularly dangerous disease, but last week, senior officials they changed the rhetoricindicating that the novel coronavirus now has a reduced ability to cause death in patients.
Some Chinese experts point out that Covid is no more deadly than the seasonal flu.
The announcements were preceded by a meeting of the CPC Central Committee led by Xi Jinping. As reported after the meeting, the government’s goal is to “adjust epidemic prevention and control” as Beijing attempts to stabilize its economy.
These announcements were made a few hours after the official publication. Alarming data for the world’s second largest economy: China’s exports and imports collapsed in November due to a strict “zero Covid” policy and suppressed demand.
The Chinese economy grew by 3% in the first nine months of 2022, well below the year-end target of 5.5%.
