​CFR SA has announced the signing of 45 contracts worth a total of 699 million lei, excluding VAT, for Quick Wins type works to remove speed restrictions on lines such as Apahida – Baia Mare and Rázboieni – Episcopia Bihor.

On many lines, the average speed is also 15-20% lower than 25 years ago, with trains traveling at an average of less than 50 km/h, and there are a few sections where they reach 80 km/h.

For example, the Regio train takes 4 hours for the 181 km between Apahida and Baia Mare. Between Rábosieni and Oradea IR trains take 4 hours for 220 km. For the 121 km between Arad and Oradea, the fastest trains take 2 hours 14 minutes, while those that stop everywhere take 3 hours.

The regional branch of CF Cluj signed 45 contracts for a total amount of 699,879,146.16 lei without VAT for the execution of works of the QUICK WINS type – the removal of speed limits for the restoration of the technical parameters of the upper structure of the road, financed by the National Plan for Reconstruction and Resilience (PNRR), at the station intervals , connected with CF lines Apahida – Baia Mare, Rázboieni – Episcopia Bihor and Arad – Oradea.
