There was no better way to resurrect this old “temple of taste” in Thessaloniki. Yesterday’s “Gastronomos” Quality Award Ceremony – in parallel with the reopening of the restored Modiano Market – was perfect for the venue.

The smells of delicious dishes prepared by dozens of shops in the gallery rose to the first floor, where all the guests sat, and tickled their noses like an invisible feather: fresh pasta, ceviche, sushi, sandwiches and buns with cold sauce. meat and cheeses.

Simultaneous celebration

Along with delicious appetizers specially prepared by the magazine’s partner chefs for the big “C” celebration, just a day before the Agora officially opens its doors to the public.

In addition, as Alexis Papachelas stated, taking the floor from host Giorgos Kapoucidis, it was a dream to hold the awards ceremony in Thessaloniki with its multi-dimensional culinary culture and – indeed – during the inauguration of the Lodge.

The head of the magazine, Angelos Redoulas, and the marketing director of K, Alexia Koroneu, took responsibility for this complex project, coordinating the work of many of our colleagues and volunteers to the best of their ability. Gastronomou’s children – Christina Tsialla, Maria Vasilopoulou, Nasia Diamantidou, Nikoleta Makrionitou, Vivi Konstantinidou, Nena Dimitriou, Georgia Papastamou, Angela Stamatiadis, Akrivi Kakkava and Vangelis Karatsas – were everywhere, running to perfect even the smallest details.

In any case, such a presentation is demanding, all the more so when it takes place on a “rooftop” that is being prepared to be “re-presented” to the public for the first time after a long time.
