The Kremlin said on Wednesday that the US military spending bill, which provides an additional $800 million in aid to Ukraine and was approved by US congressmen on Tuesday, “conflicts” with Russia, Reuters reported.
At the press conference, Kremlin spokesman Dmytro Peskov stated: “The adopted document is extremely conflicting in relation to our country.”
The 2023 National Defense Budget Act (NDAA) authorizes this additional amount for the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, which is $500 million more than the previous request made by US President Joe Biden.
The bill also removes some restrictions on munitions contracts in support of Ukraine.
The bill is expected to pass the Senate and House of Representatives this month before being sent to the White House for President Biden to sign.
