“On 09.08.2022 and 19.11.2022, the defendant Bădălău Niculae allegedly demanded from the mayor of the commune to enter into a contract regarding the “Reconstruction of the drinking water supply system…”, estimated at the cost of 7,071,925 lei without VAT, to a company managed by his relative, allowing to consider , that he has influence over a person in the management of the National Investment Company (CNI), whom he allegedly promised to induce to secure the financing of two projects submitted to this institution to the relevant city hall. In the period of 2021-2022, as part of the implementation of the contract that the same city hall concluded with the same commercial company, regarding the “Creation of a water supply network…”, the defendant Bădălău Niculae, through another Person under investigation in this case, offered the mayor more money , so that instead he would continue to pay the company in question, even for inappropriate work,” prosecutors argued.
