“On a Sunday in December, the time spent at home with loved ones is priceless. At ELCEN, we know how important the electrical and thermal energy we produce is both for Bucharest and for the National Energy System. We know that without our constant work, the lights would no longer “turn on” in homes, hospitals, schools, and other institutions, and the devices needed in everyday life would no longer work,” ELCEN writes in the post.

The company clarifies that they operate without stops in CET Bucharest Sud, CET Bucharest West, CET Grozăvesti and CET Progresu.

“Great efforts are being made, given the already known technical conditions, but we are here day and night, and on weekends and holidays, and we do not stop, because we know that without ELCEN cogenerations, it would be “ice” and dark in Bucharest. Temperatures on Sunday, December 4: CET Bucharest West: 93 degrees C, CET Grozăvesti: 92 degrees C, CET Progresu: 91 degrees C, CET Bucharest South: 86 degrees C,” writes Elcen.

Several residents of Bucharest responded to the post and complained that the houses did not feel this heat.

“I cried… I became an expert at preparing a shower,” wrote a netizen in the comments. “Kolentina’s radiators are icy, hot water is hard like bread, you can’t knead it, I’m freezing in the house, it’s colder in the house than outside, only it’s not raining. As a result, we are worse off than under communism,” commented another. “You boasted in order to offend others, although you are well aware of the problems of the Thermoenergetika company. Shame, isn’t it? Follow the principle of “divide and rule,” wrote another resident of Bucharest.

ELCEN responded to the comment, noting that it reports to the Department of Energy and does not distribute the thermal agent to consumers.

“ELCEN has no contractual relationship with consumers. ELCEN manufactures and delivers the SET fence. The company engaged in the transportation and distribution of the thermal agent is Termoenergetica, subordinate to the Bucharest City Hall,” the company’s response reads.
