The same newspaper notes that chemotherapy is currently on hold and that Pele is now receiving other treatment to reduce symptoms such as pain and shortness of breath.

Considered one of the greatest players of all time, the 82-year-old Brazilian is suffering from colon cancer and was hospitalized last Tuesday to have his treatment reassessed.

However, he was also later diagnosed with a respiratory infection.
