The president of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians, George Simion, said on Friday in Alba Iulia that Romania should no longer fund “even one lei” to the government in Chisinau, he also confirmed that they have allocated “too much money” for Ukrainian refugees.
In a speech delivered to the delegates at the AUR Extraordinary Congress, George Simion declared that “Bessarabia is Romania” and that this was a “truth” that had to be said “loudly and directly”.
“Another truth we must also say is that Romania should no longer finance the government in Chisinau with even one lei. I like some ministers from across the Prut, but I like the truth better. We are not funding anti-Romanian separatism by funding this government. Or by financing the mayor of Chisinau, the anti-Romanian Ion Ceban. This is what, unfortunately, those who have our money do. Not a single lei for the government of Chisinau, as it is true that we have to say that too many funds have been allocated for the refugees who arrived from Ukraine,” said Simion.
He added that millions of Romanians have left the country and that we have “more than half of the country in dire poverty.”
George Simion stated that AUR members are “unionists” and want all Romanians to be together.
“And from our little, from our bread, we know how to give, including those who left from Russian aggression and from the war. We are all human beings and we should all see the pain of those around us, but since our governors have not seen our pain for 30 years, you are rebelling, right?” said the leader of the URZ.
According to him, another “truth” is that “AUR is not an anti-European party.”
At its meeting on Friday in Alba Iulia, the extraordinary congress of the AUR approved the “Party Propaganda Strategy for 2023 – Moral Integrity and Loyalty to the Voters” and the “Resolution – Medical System in Romanian Villages between Oblivion and Waiting”.
The most important actions announced for next year are the construction of a mobile hospital and the implementation of the Caravan for the promotion of the political program, which will take place throughout the country.
According to George Simion, the AUR has so far accumulated about seven million euros in its accounts, and the party has not spent “one penny” of this amount on administrative needs or on purchases.
In order to partially provide the necessary funds for the promotion of the Caravan, expenses will be made from subvention amounts from the state budget, and for expenses that do not fit here, funds will be collected from participants and sympathizers of AUR. Special vehicles will be purchased, equipped and equipped in accordance with the main campaign theme, namely the sanitary system, the adopted document says.
George Simion also proposed that, within the limits of funds availability, part of the subvention funds should be allocated for the purchase of school minibuses.
