As every year, January 1 is synonymous with change. And, unfortunately, it is not always for the better, even on the contrary. And this will be especially relevant in 2023, when the government is planning a lot of new things, especially for motorists. And these really will not be spoiled, on the contrary. Because from the beginning of next year, the discount of 10 centimes on fuel, which was valid at all service stations, will cease to apply. This will also apply to the small 10 cent increase offered in parallel at TotalEnergies. But this is not the only disappointment that awaits drivers who will also have to face a the environmental penalty is increasing, with a ceiling that will reach 50,000 euros. But that’s not all…

Decreasing bonus
Indeed, if the tax on hot cars will increase sharply, then the environmental bonus will, unfortunately, be the opposite. While several countries have decided to reduce it or simply put an end to it, e.g Great Britain or Germany, the French government decided to gradually reduce it. While the maximum amount is now €7,000 for some of the most modest households, it currently remains at €6,000 for the rest of the EV buyers. But that will obviously change soon. Indeed, next year the ceiling will decrease by 1,000 euros and will be limited to 5,000 euros. But be careful, as this amount only applies to cars up to €47,000. Those making between this price and €60,000 will only be entitled to €1,000. In addition, hybrid models will no longer have the right.

Discover the full scale
To better see this rich program, we invite you to discover the full scope of this new environmental bonus.
- Electric cars less than EUR 47,000: 27% of the price with a limit of EUR 5,000 (EUR 3,000 for a legal entity). A bonus of 7,000 euros for some modest families.
- Electric cars from €47,000 to €60,000: €1,000
- New electric vans : 40% of the price not exceeding EUR 6,000 (EUR 4,000 for a legal entity)
- Cars running on water : 1000 euros
We will still have to wait before we know the conditions and criteria for awarding the maximum bonus of €7,000. These are due to be detailed by the government over the next few weeks.
There is an exception to the end of sales of diesel cars in 2035, voted by the European Parliament: luxury cars (Ferrari, etc.). Of course, there are not many of them, so the emissions will be limited, but for the symbol and social justice will have to be ironed pic.twitter.com/6gPS9lc6ZE
