Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has accused the West of directly participating in the conflict in Ukraine by supplying it with weapons and training its soldiers, The Guardian reports. He also says that energy facilities in Ukraine were hit, which stopped the West from “pumping lethal weapons” into Ukraine “to kill Russians.”

Sergey Lavrov also said that Russia’s strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities and other key infrastructure, which left millions without electricity, heating and water, were aimed at weakening Ukraine’s military potential and disrupting arms supplies to the West, the Associated Press.Press reported.

“It goes without saying that the USA and NATO are not participating in this war, you are directly participating in it,” Lavrov said.

“And not only by supplying weapons, but also by training personnel. You train their army on your territory, on the territory of Great Britain, Germany, Italy and other countries.”

According to him, the Russian missile attack was aimed at “disabling the energy facilities that allow us to continue pumping lethal weapons into Ukraine to kill Russians.”

“The infrastructure that is the target of these attacks is used to ensure the combat potential of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and nationalist battalions,” he said.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also compared the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson to Stalingrad when reporters in Moscow asked why Russian forces were shelling the regional capital, which they believe is part of Russian territory.

“Well, we have an example that the city of Stalingrad was our territory. And we beat the Germans there, and we beat them so hard that they ran away from there,” he replied, referring to the famous battle that, according to some historians, turned the tide of World War II.
