“On the morning of November 29, a fire was announced on board the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier of the Nimitz type,” the US Navy said.

Thanks to the efforts of the rescuers, it was possible to quickly localize and eliminate the fire. Nine sailors received minor injuries, they were given help on board,” the message reads.

An investigation was launched, but the aircraft carrier did not stop its maneuvers in the area.

In July 2020, a major fire completely destroyed the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard, which was docked at the San Diego Naval Base for maintenance operations. Twenty one people were injured.

The sailor was accused of organizing the fire, but in the meantime he was acquitted.
