
Emma Reducanu, who won the 2021 US Open, was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) on Tuesday at a ceremony at Windsor Castle attended by King Charles III.
Last winter, Redukan (20 years old) was included in the list of personalities who were awarded by Queen Elizabeth II for the New Year.
Accompanied by her father at the ceremony, Emma said: “It was wonderful to receive the honor from His Majesty the King today – I feel extremely grateful.”
Emma Reducanu received the title for special services to Great Britain in tennis, becoming in 2021 the first British tennis player to win the Grand Slam tournament in more than four decades, writes News.ro.
