Spain and Germany finished their World Cup group stage match 1-1 in Qatar. While the Spanish are leading the group, the Germans need a win and a combination of circumstances to reach the eighth final.

Spain – Germany 1:1 in Group E of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar

The Spaniards started the first half better, possessing the ball and more dangerous situations, despite several shots on goal. The goal didn’t come until the 62nd minute, when Alvaro Morata brilliantly deflected Jordi Alba’s cross into the net.

As Germany became more dangerous in the second half, missing even more good scoring chances, they leveled at the end when Fullkrug struck a fine shot under the bar in the 83rd minute.

If a draw in their last game against Japan is enough for Spain, then Germany badly need a win in the game against Costa Rica, while hoping that the Japanese get confused.
