
Bucharest City Hall will financially support 2,500 cancer patients who have medical indications issued by an oncologist, News.ro reports.
The general mayor of the capital, Nikushor Dan, announced on Saturday that each patient, depending on medical recommendations, will be able to use services worth 5,850 lei.
Will be provided:
- 10 sessions of physiotherapy x 135 lei/session;
- 10 sessions of manual lymphatic drainage x 170 lei/session
- 10 sessions of psychological counseling (5 addressed to the patient and 5 to the patient together with a relative) x 250 lei/session
- oncological nutrition consultation x 300 lei/consultation
“The project, initiated by the Bucharest Hospitals and Medical Services Authority (ASSMB), an institution coordinated by Deputy Mayor Horia Tomescu, received the approval of the General Councilors at a meeting on Friday and will be implemented between January 2023 and December 2024. Funding is carried out from the own budget of the Municipality of Bucharest, through the Administration of Hospitals and Medical Services of Bucharest and/or from other legally established sources. The long-term budget of the project is 14,625,000 lei, of which 7,312,500 lei for 2023 and 7,312,500 lei for 2024,” the general mayor also noted.
According to him, the beneficiaries of the project should be Romanian patients with a permanent residence in Bucharest (or with a residence visa obtained at least 6 months before the application), diagnosed with various forms of cancer.
