A plume of smoke darkened the sky on Saturday over a building under construction near the Lusail Stadium, where the World Cup matches are being held in Qatar. The Qatari authorities have not reported any casualties, the Associated Press reports, news.ro writes.

The Ministry of Interior of Qatar says that the fire broke out on Saturday afternoon (local time) on the island, which is part of the city of Lusail.

The city of Lusail is hosting several FIFA World Cup matches, including the match between Argentina and Mexico on Saturday night (starting at 21:00).

According to AP, the fire broke out about 3.5 kilometers from the stadium in Lusail.
