Russian propagandist Volodymyr Solovyov calls for the death penalty for Russian soldiers who leave their military positions in Ukraine. He also asks his staff to ban any online user who asks him to show his own heroism on the front lines, according to journalist Julia Davis.

In pictures taken and published by Julia Davis, Volodymyr Solovyov, who is believed to be a favorite propagandist of Russian President Vladimir Putin, begins to lash out at members of his team.

  • “I’m not sure I got what I needed. (…) Young people, can you at least do what is being asked of you instead of sending it to me in English for me to translate and occupy my time? Can you do what I ask? The clip has already been translated a million times. What the hell! He throws me like a bone to a dog. Look on YouTube, scroll to the point where the answer begins. This is not done!”.

As he calms down, yelling at the show’s crew, Soloviev brings up the subject of the death penalty for deserting Russian soldiers.

  • “I believe that it is necessary to change the laws in force on the territory of Russia. The moratorium on the death penalty must be abolished! I believe that the highest form of protection of the nation is vitally necessary, that is, the death penalty, shooting, military trials and military tribunals should be in force in the army. Cowards must atone for their guilt with blood. This is something that, in my opinion, needs to be implemented. Special forces, perhaps military police, to catch armed soldiers who leave their combat positions. Iron discipline is needed in the army. No more fools!” Solovyov said.

Towards the end, the TV host again explodes at his team, which does not block commentators who send him to the war in Ukraine, in the context of which the propagandist repeatedly praised the equipment received by recruits sent to the front.

  • At one point Solovyov shouts to his team: “I told you to block that idiot Elena33! Why haven’t you blocked her yet? Are you working today or just protecting yourself? By the way, Konstantin writes: “show your heroism on the battlefield.” I’ve been there, more than once! Block all these morons, Pavel Lukin and others! Everyone is sleeping here.”

Solovyov is not the first to criticize Russian conscripts who complain about their commanders and conditions in the army.

“(…) You will talk about yourself, how your commander is wrong, how you received the wrong instruction, and how you prepared?” Solovyov asked Russian recruits at the beginning of November, who complain about how the mobilization continues by Volodymyr Putin on September 21.

“What did you do on the training ground to prepare for battle? Or do you think that everyone owes you? What do you owe to the state, what do you owe to the Motherland? I never asked these questions,” he continues his monologue.

“Let’s put it this way, these questions have not been asked in modern Russia for 30 years,” says the presenter of the “Russia-1” channel.

What’s more, this month a TV host donned a military helmet to show Russian recruits just how good the tech they’re getting really is.
