At a press conference in Santiago de Chile, the great Iberian champion said that “everyone should have freedom of expression”.

“We live in a globalized world where people should have more and more rights. Everyone should have the freedom to express their feelings as long as it does not harm others.

Sport is a place for self-expression because it has global media exposure, but beyond all that, playing football is important to me.

The decisions FIFA makes or doesn’t make may seem better or worse to me, but at the end of the day it’s the rules and attitude they want to adopt at their event. Others should freely express themselves and demonstrate their disagreement, as is already happening” – Rafael Nadalquoted by News.ro.

Recently, FIFA decided that captains will not be able to wear armbands in the colors of the rainbow and with the slogan “One Love” at the World Cup in Qatar. This decision caused many critics from the world of sports.
