Modern society is increasingly connected to digital systems and organically opens up to artificial intelligence. European cities and villages are in full process of transformation into Smart City and Smart Village. In this context, NEOS, part of Urbioled, has developed one of the most sophisticated remote control and Smart City solutions and actively contributes to improving the quality of life and protecting the environment.
NEOS covers the serious problems of modern society related to resource management and effectively manages: energy consumption, resource conservation, disadvantages of overpopulation, remote planning and control.
“NEOS was developed based on an integrative concept. The results offered by NEOS correspond to the urgent problems of society at the moment and provide comprehensive and integrated solutions so that we support the principles of a green society: economy, efficiency, controlled management,” says Ana Maria Čotir, CEO of Urbioled.
NEOS envisages supporting the research activities of the TEQ department at URBIO for more than 3 years, during which the solution was transformed “from idea to finished product”, with the support of European funding under the project “Increasing the contribution of the ICT sector to economic competitiveness through product development”. Innovative ICT with application in the rest of the economy of Romania”, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, code SMIS 2014+:129007.
“NEOS also means great work supported by the entire team. We also worked at night and on weekends, because the product is about community infrastructure, whether we’re talking about villages or cities, it’s smart public lighting and so on, so we had to do tests at night. The involvement and professionalism with which the development of NEOS was carried out is reflected in the performance results we support,” adds Ana Maria Chotir, CEO of Urbioled.
Scalable and adaptable to any community anywhere in the world, NEOS facilitates sustainable and efficient resource management with the added benefit of improving residents’ quality of life. Expanded to new technologies, managing the charging infrastructure of electric vehicles, contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions through energy savings of more than 40%, working in any conditions and regardless of Internet access, NEOS is suitable for large urban agglomerations where the need for control and monitoring is the maximum, as well as for smaller communities that manage their own resources with difficulty.
The vast majority of Smart City projects fail due to lack of maturity, openness to integration and, more often than not, simply because they are too complex. NEOS offers an intuitive plug-and-play solution with self-installation that is easy to understand and use for its beneficiaries, because after all, as practice has shown us, it cannot be otherwise.
In addition, NEOS offers a proactive assistance service, unique in Romania, through which beneficiaries are notified of a problem before they notice it. And because decisions are made in real time in the intellectual community, NEOS includes two more innovative solutions patented by the TEQ Urbioled department.
The KAMSENS optical multi-sensor will make NEOS detect any adverse or even extreme weather conditions and warn the user, even deciding to change the color of the lights of the public street lighting system from natural white, energy-efficient, to yellow-white. , able to cut through the fog. At the same time, TEQ’s proprietary communication protocol called PREDICTNET will execute commands and return operating parameters at an extremely high speed, helping the beneficiary to perceive and make real-time decisions on the necessary actions.
In particular, NEOS is a powerful tool in the hands of users due to the financial and operational advantages it offers.
