​Prime Minister Nicolae Cucăt said on Wednesday in an interview with the Spanish publication La Razon that Europe will be safer with Romania in the Schengen area and that all the latest assessments have shown not only that we meet the requirements, but also that we is one of the most responsible states. Answering a question about Russia’s military mistakes in Ukraine, Chuke says that Russia’s biggest mistake was already made when it decided to move this war to Europe.

During his visit to Spain for a joint government meeting with the President of the Government of the Kingdom of Spain, Pedro Sánchez Pérez-Castejon, Prime Minister Nicolae Chuque gave an interview to the Spanish publication La Razon.

Prime Minister Ciucé said that almost a million Romanians study, live and work in Spain and stressed the constant demand of the Romanian diaspora

• “The possibility to keep Romanian citizenship at the same time as obtaining Spanish is a constant request of the Romanian diaspora in Spain. We are conducting an open and honest dialogue to jointly find the best solutions to meet this strong interest of our diaspora, taking into account the sensitivities of both parties,” Chuke said.

The prime minister did not want to criticize the countries that oppose Romania’s accession to Schengen, only stating that all assessments confirmed more than 10 years ago that we are ready.

• So far, Romania has responded exemplary to what could have been a humanitarian crisis caused by Russia’s war in Ukraine. We guarantee fast, safe and controlled flows for the approximately 2.8 million Ukrainian refugees who have crossed the border into Romania. I believe that this situation is the most relevant proof of the ability of the Romanian authorities to respond not only to current situations, but also to exceptional ones. (..)

When asked what military mistakes Russia will make in Ukraine, Prime Minister Chuka said that “Russia’s biggest mistake was already made when it decided to transfer this war to Europe.”
