“Had SYRIZA accepted an invitation to attend an event dedicated to the cooperation of Greek and American universities, she would have known that Yale University has waived tuition fees for Greek students who will study there for 1-2 semesters, as part of an agreement with EKPA.” Minister of Education stated Niki Kerameos, in a social media post, responding to what former minister Kostas Gavroglu said. “So Mr. Gavroglu would not flaunt himself,” he added.
“It’s a shame that SYRIZA treats such a positive development of events with such pity and pettiness,” the minister commented.
Mrs. Kerameos, in fact, in her post quoted the relevant passage from the agreement between EKPA and Yale University, which explicitly mentions the exemption of students from the obligation to pay tuition while studying at Yale University.
It is noted that Mr. Gavroglu, in an interview he gave to news247, stated among other things that “no American university is for the benefit of knowledge and students” and that “there are very specific financial requirements”, referring to the cooperation between Ethnikos and Kapodistrias University of Athens with Yale University stating that “Yale University will charge regular tuition fees.”
