Right-wing leader Ludovic Orbán said on Monday on Profit News TV about the presidential candidacy that he said he is thinking very seriously about the candidacy and will most likely run for office. Orbán said that his main goal for 2024 is not to have PSD win the presidency of Romania, because if they win, they will have everything for 10 years, News.ro reported.

“I announced that I am thinking very seriously about this candidacy, most likely yes,” Orban said when asked if he was thinking of running for the post of president of Romania.

Regarding the right-wing alliance, the leader of Forța dreotei showed that he is “a realist, and the 2024 election equation is one that we still cannot predict one hundred percent.”

“It is not known whether the PSD will go together with the PNL, I think this is Yohannis’ plan. Including appropriations, you can go because I have heard many barons from the PNL, less from the PSD, who, in order to maintain their positions, would agree to form an alliance to gain support in the district councils and municipalities.

Ludovic Orbán also revealed that it is difficult to assess what the political scene will look like at the beginning of 2024, given that the European Parliament elections will be the first, followed by local, parliamentary and presidential elections in September.

“Some decisions have to be made. My fundamental goal for 2024 is that the PSD does not win the presidency of Romania, because if they win, they will have everything for 10 years,” said Ludovic Orbán.

The leader of the “Right Forces” said that he is “thinking over a strategy to maximize the chances of winning the presidential elections with a worthy, democratic candidate.” “Today, the PNL is more and more like the PSD and is becoming rarer,” he added.

On the right-wing force, Ludovic Orbán noted that he opened a dialogue with potential partners from the opposition, close in terms of political thinking, with the two formations USR and PMP.

“We opened a dialogue. Dialogue is followed by cooperation and joint actions,” Orban said.
