Clarifications regarding the role of the police in today’s “operation” to evict former journalist Joanna Kolova from her home in Zografa, which caused a storm of reactions and complaints, were given some time ago by the Attica Police General Directorate, with a brief press release.
In its briefing, GADA claims that the presence of police officers at the place of eviction was to assist the bailiff “only to suppress any resistance and prevent other criminal acts from being committed against him.”
“Regarding the eviction process, which is ongoing from today (21-11-2022) in the morning at a local house in the Zografou area, it is specified that the police force has been requested from the Athens Police Department to provide assistance to a competent bailiff only to crush any resistance and prevent the commission other criminal acts against him (Article 160 of Presidential Decree A41/91).”
