The United States of America and Wales played to a 1-1 draw in Group B at the World Cup in Qatar. If in the first half the Americans completely dominated, then in the second half of the match the Welsh exerted more pressure.

In the first half, the Americans had 70% of the ball and managed to open the score thanks to Weah in the 36th minute. Leaving the booth more motivated, the Welsh pressed, and in the 80th minute Gareth Bale managed to score from 11 meters, which he also converted two minutes later.

Timothy Weah, the first son of a Ballon d’Or winner to score at the World Cup

American Timothy Weah, the author of the first goal in the match, is the son of the legendary George Weah, the current president of Liberia. Although his father won the Ballon d’Or, he never played for his country in the World Cup.

In the first match of Group B, England confidently defeated Iran with a score of 6:2.
