An elderly man tragically died when he was carried away at noon by a car that took a frantic course in the central part of the city. Kavala.

A tragic incident occurred on Votsi Street, when, according to the Kavala Road Traffic Department, the 10th passenger car, coming from the beginning of Votsi Street from Philippou, drove through the entire downstream street at breakneck speed, then crossed Venizelu Street (one of the streets with intense traffic) and ended up at the end of Votsi Street.

As a result of a crazy move, the car uprooted a tree, three pillars and carried away with it the unfortunate old man, who at that moment was crossing the road.

An EKAV ambulance arrived at the scene and took the unfortunate man to the general hospital in Kavala, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the car was also taken to the hospital with the injured, who, in a state of shock, apparently claimed that the car had a problem with the braking system, as a result of which he lost control.
